For me, one of the main appeals of art is the aspect of storytelling. I grew up watching and reading about various fictional characters from cartoons, anime, webcomics, manga, games, etc. Seeing these characters that I can relate to and feel moved by, has led me to developing my own.
Character creation has allowed me to express my thoughts and feelings through them. In this process I use my own experiences and interests as inspiration in addition to the influences I had growing up. In trying to create characters that I relate to, as well as being diverse, I am able to learn more about and be more open to different perspectives and backgrounds.
In these two poster representing two theoretical comic ideas, I hope to convey the personalities of my characters in addition to exploring the themes and messages that matter to me.
With Out of the Loop I try reflecting my highschool experiences with being in my own bubble, oblivious to the drama that surrounded me, as well as feeling a strong desire to form new relationships as well as closer bonds with others.
With  Trial & Erre  I try to convey the importance of standing firm in your own beliefs in spite of opposition and finding your own means of protest.
